The last stash-busting challenge!

Megan here today! Do you have a bunch of old kit or collection leftovers sitting around in your stash? If so, then this challenge is for you! It's super simple...all you need to do is use one of those old kits/collections to create a layout. If you feel up to it, snap a photo of what you have remaining in that kit/collection to share with us before you create your layout or cards.

So here's what I had left from my January kit after creating five layouts with it...

And here is my example using what was left from my January kit...

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Chipboard Challenge

Hey everyone! Welcome to another Tuesday challenge. It's Stephanie bringing you this layout that I created with my January kit, Pink Paislee's Snow Village.
The blue flourishes, alphas and red circle were all naked chipboard that I sprayed with mists. The button next to my picture is a pre-printed chipboard and the circles at the top of my layout are also pre-printed chipboard pieces from Pink Paislee.

We would love for you to play along with this, or any of our January challenges! If you do, make sure you upload your creation into the gallery and link it up to the forum by midnight on January 31 for a chance at our prize!

Have a great day!!

They Don't Call it SCRAP-booking for Nothing!

Hello, it's Susan here and today we're getting into the nitty-gritty of our Get Organized! topics.  We're talking scraps - all those little bits and pieces of  patterned paper and card stock that are just too good to throw away.  Do you use them?  And do you organize them??  I do, and we've got lots of great ideas here to help you get those scraps in order so you can make cool things with them.

While you've got all those scraps out and putting them into neat little piles, how about creating a layout or some cards with them?  That's today's challenge.  Make something with your scraps like I did for this layout:

The photo I used of my daughter Colleen in that dress just begged for a red and white color combination.  So, I dumped out my baggie full of red patterned paper scraps and made some adorable layered flowers using my Cameo.  It was so much fun!

I hope you have found some inspiration today to use your scraps in a creative way!

Bust out those word and sentiment stickers!

Hello! Megan here and it's time to talk stickers, stickers and stickers! An "old school" supply for sure, but they keep making this classic and we keep hoarding them. So this challenge is all about using stickers...particularly one kind that I seem to have a ton of...WORD AND SENTIMENT STICKERS!! So today's challenge is for you to use a minimum of five different word and/or sentiment stickers on your project! You can cluster them like I did on my example, use them to frame a photo, make a border with them, embed them in your journaling...there are so many ways to use these types of stickers!

And here is my example using my January kit and eight word/sentiment stickers from my stash.

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Cardstock Challenge

Happy Tuesday y'all! It's Stephanie here again today to share my challenge this week.
It's all about cardstock! We all have it, we all love it (I think)! It's probably one of the first supplies we acquired in this hobby. Let's put it  to good use!
I have created this layout using my January kit, Pink Paislee's Snow Village:
I started with the white cardstock as my base, then cut rectangles from the kraft cardstock. I then added all of my embellishments & journaling.

I also made a card using mostly cardstock:
I cut three strips of cardstock in different colors & used a different border punch on each. The star is also punched from cardstock.

We'd love for you to play along! Create a new layout or two cards & upload your projects into the gallery. Be sure to link back to the forum by midnight on January 31 to be eligible for this month's prize!

Have a fabulous day!!

Get those ink pads organized

Susan here, and we at Memorable Seasons are truckin' along this month with our scraproom organizational topics. Today we're looking at all the great ways to store and organize ink pads.  Here's where you can find lots of cool ideas for doing just that.  Makes me want to go out and buy more ink pads just so I can have the fun of organizing them all!  Heh, heh!

We've also got a new challenge for you today- use your ink pads in a new and different way.  I have a set of inks that are small 1" squares.  I made my own patterned paper by stamping three colors in a grid.  It was fun and made for a different looking layout.  Take a look:

I used red, blue, and brown inks and really like the way it turned out.

So, pull out all those inks, sort them, organize them, and then USE them!

A Button Stash-Busting Challenge!

Hi all! Megan here. Today's "Get Organized!" post is all about small embellishments. Therefore, for this challenge, we are celebrating one of my personal favorite small embellishments - BUTTONS! Yeah, they're "old school," but I don't care. Buttons are so versatile and inexpensive! Love them! So today, your challenge is to bust through your stash and use a minimum of 10 buttons on your project

And here is my example using my January kit...

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Also, be sure to check out my post about organizing and storing all sorts of small embellishments!

Get Organized!- Ribbon *Alissa*

Come join us at Memorable Seasons for a month of Get Organized! We'll be sharing organization ideas and issuing challenges to help you tackle your stash.

I keep my ribbon stashed away. I scrap in a tight space so I can't have it on display. It is all on the bottom shelf here.

I keep the oversized rolls in this one container.

Small rolls and tape are sorted here.

The double decker!

The top deck has all the rolls organized by color.

Loose pieces and cards are in the bottom deck.

When a space is emptied on a card, I refill it with a loose piece of coordinating color.

Loose pieces are organized by color in plastic bags.

This month, I'm designing with Smarty Pants by Simple Stories for Memorable Seasons.

Mists Challenge

Hey y'all! Stephanie here today with another Tuesday challenge.
I love mists (even though my collection doesn't show it)!! They are so easy & fun to play around with. I created this layout by placing my chipboard pieces on white cardstock & spraying them with the desired color mists. I then used the cardstock with the negative space from the chipboard pieces as my background (the stars, the starburst & the doily).
Image

My challenge this Tuesday to you is to use those mists! Be as creative as you can!!

*Create a new layout or 2 cards.
* Upload your creations into the gallery & link back here by midnight on January 31.

A World of Stamps

Hi, it's Susan here, and today at Memorable Seasons we're talking about stamps.  Especially talking about organizing them.  I mean really organizing them!

Are your stamps a huge mess?  Are you forever searching for just the right one for your project, but can't put your hands on it?  Well, today our Get Organized topic features my very own organizational system that I am proud to say works wonders!  Check it out and see if you can get yours all neat and tidy just like mine.  (Humble, aren't I?)

And while you've got all those stamps at your finger tips, why not use some on a layout or a couple of cards?  Today's challenge is just that:  use some stamps! Don't let them languish all alone, sad, and unused.  Put them to use!

Here's a page I made using some very simple circle stamps.  Boy was this fun to do!  I love the whimsical look of all the circles.  And I was a very, very brave girl.  I stamped directly on to my layout's background paper!  Whoo hoo!

This is my daughter and her boyfriend.  Aren't they a cute couple?  Look at 'em, posing like the farmer and his wife in that famous Grant Wood painting.  Haven't we all done this at one time or another?

Anyway...enough of my rambling.  Dig out those stamps, y'all, and get to stamping!  It's fun!

Stash-Busting Challenge: Washi Tape!

Hello! Megan here and we are talking about washi tape today. A couple years ago, I had never even heard of it. Now I have 60+ rolls of the stuff in my stash! So today's challenge is all about breaking out that washi tape we all covet and USE IT! My challenge for you is to use at least three different kinds of washi tape on your layout. Don't have washi tape? Then substitute with paper strips. I know we all have paper!

And here is my example using my January kit. I used five different washi tapes and even used one of them and a straight pin to create a cute little flag...

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Tuesday's Challenge

Hey y'all! It's Stephanie & Tuesday is my challenge day.
Today we are stash-busting our alphabet stickers!
If you are anything like me, you save all scraps, including letter stickers. What do you do with them once the prominent letters (a,e,i,s,t, etc.) are gone?
Well, I created a "word search" on my layout using those leftover letters. This was a great way to use them up!
I used my January kit, Pink Paislee's Snow Village to create this layout.
The challenge in the forum today is to use up those letter stickers! Be as creative as you can. Remember, this month is all about cleaning out our stash! If you play along, be sure to post your creation in the gallery and link up here  by January 31 for a chance at this month's prize!

I also have a post up about my organizational ideas for storing your alphabet stickers. Be sure to check it out.

Have a great Tuesday!

Today It's All About Markers

Susan here with today's organizational and challenge topic:  Markers.  We've all got 'em, we all love 'em.  But who wants to have to hunt all over the place to find the perfect color?  Not me!

So today at Memorable Seasons you can find all sorts of wonderful ways to organize those markers in our January Get Organized! event.  See if you don't get inspired to get those markers in order.

And speaking of inspiration, our challenge for you today is - can you guess? - use your makers on a layout or cards.  Here's one I whipped up using my design team kit for this month, "Pinwheel" by Lily Bee Designs.  It's on sale in the store right now at an incredible discount!

I used markers to color my stamped embellishments and to draw borders around my papers.

I hope you have fun using and organizing those markers this week!

Stash-busting challenge: Flowers!

Megan here with today's stash-busting challenge! Okay, now I know you all have more flowers than you would ever need. So today's challenge is all about flowers! I am not giving you a minimum requirement to use. I just want you to USE YOUR STASH and put more flowers than you normally would on a layout. Make those flowers noticeable!

And here is my example using my January kit. I really wanted to create a layout that showcased the Bite Sized Bits paper (Jillibean's version of the 12x12 sheet that comes with all the 3x4 cards) because it seems like every manufacturer now includes a sheet of these Project-Life-inspired cards in their collection. So I went with a clean grid style but then needed to figure out a way to include lots of flowers on the layout. And that's where the idea to do an entire rectangle covered in orange flowers came from. I lost count but there is somewhere around 30+ flowers on there!

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

And all this month, we are sharing a bunch of organizational and storage ideas to further help you clean up your scrappy space. I'd love for you to check out my post on various ways to store and organize flowers!

Let's get organized & clean out our stash this month!

Happy New Year everyone!!

A new year brings us the chance for fresh starts - out with the old and in with the new. So with that, we are focusing this month on cleaning out our scrappy stashes and getting reorganized. Throughout the month, the design team will be sharing with you different ways to organize various scrapbooking supplies. We will also be issuing you challenges to help you work through that scrappy stash in hopes that you'll have some space for any new goodies you may pick up after Winter CHA! You will also see that we are cleaning out the Memorable Seasons store this month in preparation for new CHA goodies; so we will be showcasing some older product that is all still fabulous and now offered at great prices in the store.

So look out for January here at Memorable Seasons because it's all about getting our scrap spaces and supplies cleaned out, organized and ready for a new year!
