It's time for a Contest

Do you enjoy the TV show Survivor--well we here at Memorable Seasons have our own take on the show. It's called The Last Scrapper Standing. We want all you ladies to join us here on our little island for an 8 week adventure this summer.
The DT will issue you a challenge every Friday starting June 1--you will have until the following Wednesday to get your layout loaded to the gallery and linked back to the appropriate thread. Then on Thursday all of us on the island will vote for our top 3 favorites. Depending on how many entries we have to start on week 1--a percentage of them will move forward to next week. This will continue until week 7. The last week only the Dt members aka THE JURY will vote on the top 3. The layout will the most votes will become our Last Scrapper Standing.
But WAIT WAIT--just becuz you run the risk of being voted out doesnt mean you are done----NO NO NO!! Each week we have a random drawing for prizes and EVERYONE is eligible for this prize.
So we encourage you to invite your friends-cuz HEY we dont wanna be on the island all alone right? Keep your scrappy stuff in order cuz we wanna challenge you to beat the heat of summer and use your creative brains to create some GREAT stuff.
Wont you join us?
See you Friday June 1

Hi everyone..Joni here... just sharing some things that are going on at the Message Board and Store..

We're almost done wrapping up May...can you believe that?

So my challenge yesterday was to "get messy"...

There was a fun blog post last month over at Cosmo Cricket...
It had a few of our DT layouts and also an idea on how to iron tissue paper (a dress pattern) to patterned paper. See the Cosmo Blog post here:
So...I decided to try that since I wasn't really digging the pattern on this paper and so I wanted "less" of it and thought I'd cover some of it up using this technique.... It didn't turn out so well? But then I decided to grunge it up and make it work...I just got a little messy!! So that's my challenge .. get messy...!!
I used my DT kit featuring Jillibean Soup Neopolitan Bean Bisque:
and I also added the dress pattern, doily, corrugated cardboard and burlap from my stash: (and the paint).
This layout is about my son's bruises after a very physical basketball game. He's always on the floor being physical, but these are the worst bruises he's gotten...and these photos were about 2-3 days after the game. And he's crying cuz I was taking his pic and the sun was in his eyes...not cuz of the bruises, although it does kinda help "set the mood", huh?
And...coming up in June... our annual LAST SCRAPPER STANDING contest...
The details aren't posted quite yet, but watch for them...SOON!!

And in the store...
Some new Preorder items -- Jillibean and Little Yellow Bicycle!!
And now IN STOCK ... Crate, Maya Road, Simple Stories!!

Imitation is the Greatest Form of Flattery Challenge

Well's my last challenge to issue before I step down from the DT.  As I pondered what to challenge you with this last time I thought of all kinds of trends, color challenges, sketch name it. What I finally came up with is a scraplift challenge. But this isn't just any scraplift challenge. This week I'd like you to look back at the layouts you created at least 6 months ago or later and find one you want to re-create. Then....

Scraplift yourself.

I know there are a lot of favorites, maybe some that aren't so fabulous but we've all scrapped something we can re-cycle and change up. You are welcome to rotate the layout/design, or pick out a few favorite elements...whatever you desire. Be sure and link back to this post the original one you chose and your new take on it. You don't have to re-do the layout, just scraplift it. It was actually a lot of fun looking back through what I'd created over the last several years (I just looked through my gallery here) and this is the layout I chose to scraplift from 2009:

And here is my updated version using myMay DT kit - MME Miss Caroline:

Projects must be newly created for this challenge. Be sure and post your scraplift by May 31st. And since it's my last challenge to random winner chosen from those that play along will receive 5 colors of bakers twine. I hope you enjoy the challenge.

This weeks challenges and LOTW

Hey ladies.  Can you believe that May is half way over??  Well we still have a lot going on at MS!

Tuesdays challenge, issued by Tami, was to scrap a layout of a picture that you took of yourself last week during one of the NSD crop challenges.  If you didn't snap a photo that day, no worries, you can still play along.  See the thread HERE:

And here is Tami's BEAUTIFUL example!   Doesn't she look awesome in her photo???  She used some fun stuff from Jillibean Soup for her page.

Here is a link to the Jillibean Soup stuff in the store:

My challenge this week is to pair black and white photos with bright colored papers.  I created this little mini album for my mom for Mother's Day featuring Lily Bee Victoria Park collection.  Here is the link to the challenge thread:

Here is a link to the Lily Bee collection in the store:

And finally, the layout of the week this week is by KIMMER!  I love how she used the triangles to create the design on this page!  Congrats Kimmer!

NSD challenge #4

I hope you are all enjoying the fun challenges and games that have been posted thus far. Here is challenge #4 for you today; My challenge is that you create something handmade and use it on your layout (or cards).

I love making rolled flowers so I used several of them along the gorgeous ribbon that came with my beautiful Pink Paislee Prairie Hill kit this month:

You can find my challenge, as well as the great challenges and fun games HERE. It's not to late to join in on the fun!

NSD Challenge #2

Didn't you enjoy Tami's challenge? I love mixing lines by a manufacturer - I have each manufactuere in a seperate box, which helps me know who the paper/embellishment is by and allows me to mix and match to my hearts content.

So today, I am challenging you with another thing I love - I totally love techniques and I have my favorites! I want you to showcase your favorite technique in either a layout or 2 cards - we have to be able to REALLY see your favorite technique to count!

My favorite technique that is in almost everything I create is fussy cutting and here is the layout I created with just a little bit of fussy cutting (yea right)! :D (The whole top of the layout is fussy cut, the title, and the flags)

Can't wait to see what is your favorite technique!

This must be a newly created layout for the crop, needs to be loaded to the gallery and linked back to this thread by Sunday 13th at midnight CST to qualify for the crop prize.

Welcome to the NSD party!

Well here at Memorable Seasons we have decided to have a week long party.  We have challenges, games and yes even some sales going on!  The crop begins today and closes on Sunday night.   So you have all week to scrap some stuff and I promise you the DT has put together some fun ideas to get you going!  Wont you join us?

Today is my turn for a challenge,

My favorite thing to do is mix it up--yep when I get a line new line of product from the store the first thing I like to do it go to my stash from that manufacturer and see what other lines mix well with the new stuff.  So for my challenge I wanna see you mix it up---you must use at least 2 different paper lines from the same manufacturer.

Here's my example-I worked with the new MME Miss Caroline Dilly Dally  and  I mixed it with some Stella & Rose,  Lost and Penny Lane lines.

I hope you come on over to the boards and join us for the celebration!
