Throwdown, In stock product & a winner!!

THROWDOWN CHALLENGES on the Message Board:

Ok..so now we're all done with our fabulous appetizers, main courses and even a dessert!!
So now what's left, you say? Well, we gotta clean up, right?

So the last challenge is to clean up those "scraps"...
Other than your "base" paper...the rest of your pp's MUST BE less than 13 inches for 1/2 of their circumfrence...
So, a 12x1 paper = 13 (it's 26 inches all the way around)
a 5x7 piece would = 12 (it's 24 all the way around)

If you're using a CIRCLE...you can measure the perimeter and then "half" it, to get your number.

YOU MUST USE AT LEAST 3 pieces of "scrap paper"...

And how about some bubbles for the soap doing the dishes?

So
1) 3 pieces of scrap patterened paper (see above to calculate size)
2) Bubbles/dish soap

I used MME Follow Your Heart and created this...

And...OH MY...have you seen the store lately??
Yikes...check your bank balance and then get over there!!

and MORE!!!

And...last week's blog post had the promise of a prize for someone that left a comment...
That lucky winner is ANGIE...!!

Please send me an email at joniparker@cox.net
joni parker at cox dot net
and I'll get your prize to you!!

Week #6 - Throwdown!!!

Hi everyone, Joni here!!   So this is the last week for our Annual Throwdown event... and it's my week for the 2 recipes...

First off, we're having a nice green salad to make our appetizer (card).
So, your card should be "mainly" green, with some kind of "dressing" (ink/paint)
And at least 2 more "toppings" on your salad...
I used MME Follow Your Heart...

Green base (salad), ink splatter (dressing) ...
I also added
CAULIFLOWER (flowers), ARTICHOKE HEARTS (hearts), and Alfalfa Sprouts (twine)

and for our Main Course THROWDOWN meal this week...and instead of just one item...we're making an entire dinner!!!
So it's getting to be nice weather outside...so let's go outside for a BBQ!!!

We're having BBQ Chicken, Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob and some icy lemonade!!

BBQ Chix:
1) Something with Wings
2) GRILL LINES
3) HEAT or HOT of the grill (interpret however you want)

Baked Beans:
4) Something lumpy

Corn on the Cob: (kernals are clustered)
5) A Cluster

Icy Lemonade:
6) A "clear" (icy) item.

Here's mine using MME Follow Your Heart

Wings = Butterflies, Grill Lines = Music lines, Heat = Sun/Sunshine, Lumpy = Crochet Flower, Cluster = lower left corner, Clear item = transparancy (over the photo)

So why don't you come over and join us?  Anytime is a great time to jump in!!  And we do some kinda fun stuff every month over on the Message Board.  And don't forget the store...Wow... lots of yummy product coming in all the time!!!  So, here is a little incentive for reading this far if you made it...  leave a comment on this post letting me know you were here....some lucky winner will recieve a gift...and you never know what that's going to be?!!!  I'll leave this open until next Wednesday the 25th and then draw a winner shortly after that.

Week 4 Throwdown Challenges

I received the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line with my DT kit so instead of an appetizer and because I love sweets I offered up a dessert challenge!  My challenge was to create a trifle using paper - more specifically:
To create your trifle card you need the following ingredients:
whipped topping - vellum, tissue paper, lace, anything that gives an airy feeling
layers - you must build a scene using layers like you would your cake
fruit - hand cut some items from your patterned paper to enhance your design

My main course challenge I offered up was PIZZA!

The ingredients for your pizza are:
dough - you need to start with cardstock
sauce - you must use ink/paint/spray to give a saucy look - you choose the flavor
cheese - confetti! Yep, here is the work part. I want you to give the sprinkled cheese look with confetti - I thought of circles, but you may use any shape, but sprinkle!
I chose to add in some crust with my paper strips and sewing, but that is up to you. Also, feel free to add any extras that you would like on your pizza, but please share what extra food item inspired your scrap item.

Materials Used:  American Crafts, Tattered Angels

Isn't it amazing where you can get your inspiration from?  I have never tried food before, but it was really fun!  Hope you stop by and join us we've had some neat "meals" so far.  LOL
